Oso is a distinguished middle-aged gentleman with a glossy coat and an inquisitive nose! He loves nothing more than seeking out new smells and investigating them thoroughly. Aside from sniffing, his hobbies include leaning on people for pets and chasing balls. Oso has excellent manners with other dogs, though he's on the shy side, especially with smaller dogs. He used to live with a chihuahua who told him what to do!
Oso is overly interested in cats when he's out on walks, and would really like to chase them, but he's been slowly learning about cats in his foster home, and hopefully will come to learn that cats are friends, not food! He's an active guy who enjoys his twice-daily walks, but when he's at home he enjoys cuddling up on the couch with his people and napping. He does get very attached to his people and will cry and bark initially when left alone, though he does settle quickly.
When new people come to the door, Oso knows to go to his crate until he's invited out to say hi. He knows his commands, but will occasionally give you a sly smile if he hears a command he doesn't really feel like obeying. Oso is a healthy, well-trained boy who's looking for a forever home where he can get both plenty of stimulation and plenty of pets.
Oso came to us because his guardians were moving to an assisted-living situation that did not allow large dogs.
