Female, 5 years old, 6 pounds
After watching The Mandalorian, we all wanted a Baby Yoda in our house - well here's your chance!

This adorable, shy girl was found underneath a care. She has a fractured pelvis, which could mean that she was actually hit by a car. All of this trauma had her feeling so down that at Salinas Animal Services, she wouldn't even leave her bed to go to the bathroom. After being picked up in a nice, snuggly blanket, she opened up to POMDR staff a little more and we decided to bring her into the program to help her find her forever home.

Now safely placed in a foster home, Baby Yoda continues to take small steps (to match her small paws!) towards opening up and becoming more comfortable with her surroundings, other people and other dogs. When she first came into the program, all she wanted to do was stay burrowed in her blanket, but now she has gotten a little more bold and was even found sitting next to her foster sibling, an active labradoodle. She is still currently healing, so is on crate rest, and loves to sleep in her crate, or in a warm blanket in your arms. She is getting more and more curious about her surroundings and perks up when she hears the squeak of a toy, but isn't ready to play just yet. One thing she does love is treats! Her foster family leaves them at the entrance to her crate so she can decide whether she wants it or not, but they haven't seen her pass on one yet!

Baby Yoda will do best in a quiet, patient, loving home. She is slowly showing the sweet personality she has, and will need your patience and understanding as she continues to gain confidence with your help. She does need a home without kids and too many people and hands can overwhelm her.

As Master Yoda says, "Fear is the path to the dark side" and Baby Yoda refuses to let her fear take over!
