Pistachio (also called Po) came to POMDR as a bundle of dreadlocks -- adorable dreadlocks that is! Under these long locks, we found a sweet, wiggly young guy who is the perfect picture of resilience. Though he comes from a background of neglect, he's an affectionate guy who bonds deeply with his person. Pistachio is still learning some important skills, like walking on leash, but he's a really good boy who wants to do the right thing if you'll give him some guidance.

Pistachio greets other dogs with eager sniffs and big tail wags. He can be pretty forward in greeting other dogs, and he does best with dogs who are able to put him in his place and remind him of his manners. He can be a bit "bossy" with more timid pups, but he'd love to have an equally energetic playmate. He can also be hesitant about men, and would benefit from a very slow, patient introduction to men in his life.

Pistachio comes to us from Hitchcock Road Animal Services in Salinas after he was found as a stray.
