Sierra began volunteering in the front office at POMDR in 2015, during her freshman year as CSU Monterey Bay. Soon she began giving senior dogs their freedom rides from the local shelters into POMDR custody, a volunteer role she continues to do.
Sierra has gained experience and knowledge growing up in the home where her mother has run a daycare center for many years. She is involved in The Epicenter, a nonprofit in Salinas, where she continues to learn about community goals and caring for others.
Currently in her final year at CSU Monterey Bay, Sierra is completing her degree in Collaborative Health and Human Services with a concentration in Social Work and Public Health. She holds a certificate in Mental Health and First Aid.
