This is our little Hero. He is as precious as can be. He follows his people around, gives little kisses and loves to get gentle rubs. He likes to fall asleep wherever his people are, preferably nearby in a cozy bed. He does love exploring, though. He is good on walks and wants to smell all the new spots.
Hero was found in horrible condition, but after medical care and TLC, he has made great improvements, but is still a special needs dog. He has a gentle, trusting and friendly personality, despite apparent years of neglect.
Hero is good with other dogs and could easily have canine siblings. He is also fine with cats. He rides well in the car and is generally very quiet and mellow. His sweetness is always shining.
Hero has low thyroid levels and is on medication to balance them. He also has Cushings disease and is on a medication to control the symptoms. He will need his thyroid medication and Cushings medication for the rest of his life with periodic vet visits to monitor the dosage of the medications. Hero also has a very slow growing benign hepatoma on his liver. It is not causing him problems now, but could cause him problems in the future.
Hero came to us from Salinas Animal Services after being found as a stray.
