Shy dog experience and understanding is needed.
Jenny is the cutest short stuff you'll ever meet! This gal has got that "big dog" look in a compact body that's full of love and silly antics. She is such a pretty girl with her big brown eyes, shiny dark chocolate coat, and very kissable freckles on her nose. Jenny is playful, sweet, quiet, cuddly and loving. She adores the company of other dogs, and we believe it's very important for her to have a confident canine companion to play and snuggle up with at home.
This fun girl loves to go for long walks, to the dog park, or to chase the ball in the great outdoors, but is not comfortable in overly stimulating environments like coffee shops or busy streets. Jenny has some anxiety that is very manageable at home, but she's not much of a city girl. She also has a prey drive and should go to a home without cats.
Jenny's foster home includes a husband and wife, but Jenny definitely prefers her "mom." She tolerates her foster dad, but out in public she does not like to meet new men. The good news is that Jenny's fear response is never one of aggression. She simply avoids anything that makes her feel uncomfortable. Jenny takes a daily anxiety medication that we think will help ease her transition to a new home, and in time should be able to be discontinued. Her new family will need to give her space and time to settle in, but once she does she'll be your BFF forever.
A DNA test revealed she is Russell Terrier and American Staffordshire Terrier Mix.
Jenny came to us from Jake's Wish, a great organization that has been helping her find a forever home.
