Walt is an excellent breed ambassador! He is a gentle giant who gets along with all dogs he approaches. He is friendly towards everyone who gives him attention and will happily trot along wagging his tail. He does have some mobility issues in his back legs but can go for walks and get around well. While he has the heart to play with other dogs, his legs won't allow for it. He loves to play with toys! When he tires from standing, he plops himself somewhere and seems content to watch the world go by.
Walt's lesions on his legs were biopsied and they came back as lymphomas. He is taking Metacam and other supplements, which can be beneficial for his type of cutaneous lymphoma. He does not have enlarged lymph nodes or any changes to his bloodwork, so now that his treatment is done, he seems like he can be a multi-year survivor.
Walt comes to us from Salinas Animal Services.
