We found Resilience at the Monterey County Animal Services. She was picked up as a stray in a field deep in Carmel Valley. She was covered in ticks and our vet staff pulled off over 140 ticks. On top of that, she had countless burrs and stickers on her long coat. Her energy level was very low because those ticks were so draining on her. We are already getting her the help she needs and she's perking up!
She is such a sweetheart, despite whatever her previous life entailed. She's gentle, sweet and we get a sense that she is appreciative of the help she's getting. We are going to take extra special care of her and get her to a healthier and happier state.
Resilience was found to have heart worms and she will be treated for this, but this is a process and an adopter will need to know that she will have some vet visits at our clinic before her care can be handed over.
