Burt's go-to move with people is giving kisses, especially if you have treats! He is very appropriate in meeting other dogs and super sweet when they want to play or interact. He's an easy to love dog! He deserves a home where he will be adored.
Burt came to us feeling poor and was lethargic. We found that he has Valley Fever. While shocking, it is great that this is treatable and he is already feeling and doing much better.
Burt walks slowly on outings but will pull towards new things and to meet people. Burt likes having dog friends and is good at sharing space and objects. He likes toys too for chewing and gnawing.
Burt is quiet but will cry a bit when left behind from not being able to follow. Essentially he is asking for help. He just wants to shadow his person and have time to snuggle and kiss them. He's a big time snuggler. While in the car, it is best when he is secured in a dog bed. He is able to use a doggie door but he is actually afraid of the flap.
We met Burt at Salinas Animal Services and fell in love immediately. He was overwhelmed by the shelter environment so we are happy to help him find a home. He loves everyone he meets and his ideal home is with or without another dog and one with little to no stairs. He likely couldn't keep up with an active family but his energy is increasing thanks to getting the Valley Fever behind him. Burt is a great companion.
