Tosh greets every day with spunk and enthusiasm and pays little attention to her funny gait. History of scoliosis? Not if you ask her! While she is a little uncoordinated due to this medical history, she doesn't let that stop her. She walks well on a leash. She walks very quickly to keep her momentum going. This speed walking does use a lot of her energy so prefers walks to be on the shorter side. Don't worry, she'll be sure to let you know when she gets tired. She will stop and sit or lie down to let you know that she needs a break.
Tosh gets along well with other dogs and is a social butterfly who loves being around people. She loves squeaker toys and ADORES treats. She loves snuggles and gives lots of kisses. She is a fairly quiet gal, but does bark to show how excited and happy she is when her person returns home. She does well in the car, sleeps through the night, and is great in the home. She does prefer a home without children or cats.
Tosh would do best in a house with no stairs, as her condition means she needs to avoid stairs completely or be carried up and down them. Additionally, she would do best in a house that has carpeting or rugs to help her move around more easily. Her desire to be around people means she'd also do best in a house with a person who is around a lot to give her the love she deserves - and she'll give it right back!
Tosh came to POMDR from Santa Cruz County Animal Shelter and is ready to make her next transition into her forever home!
