Leaf, or Goldie, is very, very timid. She was certainly not thriving at the shelter when she was there. She allows people to pick her up if they approach her slowly and patiently. She seems to be pretty shell shocked due to all the changes she's endured. She needs someone to help her find some stability and be patient as she acclimates.
Leaf is looking for a 1-2 person home where she will get lots of attention. She will do best as an only pet. She should get walked often and have an accessible yard. She is not a dog that likes being left alone, so someone who can keep her company throughout the day
She occasionally barks when hearing an unusual noise or if someone knocks at the door. She doesn't show interest in toys, enjoys the occasional treat, and is good in the car. She can be overwhelmed with lots going on so needs comforting in active areas or is just not a go everywhere dog. She has a big heart, likes to cuddle, and is a great companion.
Leaf is among the dogs POMDR brought back from Hitchcock Road Animal Shelter to help free up space for dogs being evacuated due to wildfires.
