Queensland Heeler
Female, 2 years old, 29 pounds
Reagan is a perfectly sweet, beautiful girl. Sadly, both of Reagan's back legs have fractures that our vet thinks are old injuries, potentially from being hit by a car. This is a poorly healing injury and thus, it could negatively affect her mobility for the rest of her life. Her right leg is especially painful. She was seen by an orthopedic surgeon and they do not recommend surgery at this time. Reagan is currently on strict crate rest for further healing and then will need to be rechecked at our clinic. We do expect her to be limited in some capacity for her entire life and likely never able to hike.

Reagan is just the nicest girl despite the pain she has clearly endured. We are so glad we get to help her on her road to recovery. We can't wait for her to heal up and allowed to do some activity as she wants to be social and act young. She is vocal and will communicate often - especially in seeing a new dog or when restless. She does need a home without children and cats.

She loves all toys. Her favorite toys are the kind with crinkly plastic on the inside. She loves to give kisses. She is not snuggly but she will lay her head on her favorite person. Reagan has the best smile and is very loyal. She will make you laugh as she is super goofy. She needs a home where she can bond with one person and have a dog friend who can handle being chewed on. Reagan is a very sweet girl, but also a typical cattle dog and has herding instinct. She does chew on everything and needs supervision when she is out of her kennel. She is very much a puppy still.

Reagan is among the dogs POMDR brought back from Hitchcock Road Animal Shelter to help free up space for dogs being evacuated due to wildfires.
