Leland is as gentle as they come. This sweet soul was not doing well at the shelter, to the point where he didn't even want to leave his suite. He has perked up since with lots of tail wags, especially when cookies are around. He loves food. He has impressively expressive eyes. Leland doesn't say much, but those big, soulful eyes sure do. He is a quiet little guy who just wants to know he is safe and sound. He is good with other dogs but not very interactive with them. He is looking for a quiet home with a patient person that will help him adjust and support him. He will love to have a yard to explore and is a good boy about resting in a crate when needed. He does need a home without cats.

Leland adores his walks but is always calm and mellow in the home. He loves to find a sunny spot and bask in the warmth. He would do almost anything for a treat. He doesn't shadow his person much but he is huge on snuggling, receiving hugs, leaning on you, and crawling into laps. He even gives occasional small kisses. He'd be happiest with someone home most of the time and would be content as the only pet since he doesn't like when dogs or small kids run up to him. He's so mellow and good-natured once he gets to know and trust his person that he will be adored wherever he goes.

Leland currently has a few eyelid and skin masses, an ear infection, and a significant skin infection. These are being treated, with the masses scheduled to be removed at our clinic. He will need medicated baths for the skin infection until healed.
