Barbee is such a loving and sweet girl. She loves attention and now that the weather is getting colder, she is pumped to be cuddled. Barbee is hard of hearing and cannot hear verbal commands, taking visual cues instead. Barbee is a sweet, gentle soul that has transitional and separation anxiety. She will whine while riding in the car and is going to have a hard time adjusting to her forever home. She will need weeks to settle in and be very sad and anxious, preventing herself from truly settling in until completely familiar.

She looks amazing for her age, both with her health and beauty. She has an old leg injury that she favors. Part of it is a luxated knee cap on her left hind leg and while she will stand with weight on all 4 limbs, she usually walks holding that leg up. Despite her leg, Barbee lives for her walks. Even when overwhelmed with anxiety, she cheers up for an explorative walk. Her future person should be able to take her on a couple walks a day.

Barbee comes to us because her guardian could no longer take care of her. She has been with her guardian her entire life, so these changes have been very tough on her. She barks and whines when she is sitting in a new place because she is not happy with change. We are sure she will blossom in a loving and patient home though as she is an absolute doll and after a long adjustment, she will make a perfect companion for the right person.
