This guy is named because he truly got a second chance at a better life. Chance was dropped off at a shelter with a big, heavy chain coiled tightly around his neck. Chance was in terrible condition. His nails were overgrown, his skin was red with irritation and lots of his black hair was gone, not to mention that he was extremely emaciated.
The shelter said his spirits were so very low in that moment of utter abandonment. He was fearful, but nevertheless, he let the shelter staff bring him in, trim his nails, bathe him and offer him a hearty meal. Once he was shown kindness, the light in his eyes started to flicker! He learned to trust the staff and has made significant improvements in his health. His spirits were lifted at long last!
Not only has Chance risen to the challenge of getting healthier, he became a staff favorite. They actually used Chance for their temperament tests with other dogs because this guy gets along so well with everyone! He was a shining star at the shelter.
Chance has come so far from whatever life he was living previously. He likely lived an ourdoor life previously and needs some help adjusting to learning to go potty outside. He has been at the shelter since July and seen many a dog get adopted. We are excited to help him get recognized, so we brought him into our program and into a foster home. It's his turn to find his loving forever family.
This strong, handsome, resilient boy joined us from Hollister Animal Shelter.
