Nico is a bright, active boy with a twinkle in his eye. His foster mom says she has never met a dog with so much personality! While he occasionally can be sassy, he is also quite sweet; he is very contented to be a part of a family and always eager to please.
Nico has a good amount of energy and enjoys meeting people and dogs out in the world (he also does well in the car). He'd love to accompany you on a bike ride or a run. He is still working on not pulling on his leash but is polite when greeting new dogs. He does show a desire to chase cats and we are not sure how he would do in meeting one. He is a smart guy and would thrive with gentle training or even an obedience or agility class.
True to his breed, he is a very chatty dog. You can have a full conversation with him and he will respond to each word. If he sees you going out to exercise without him, he might have a comment about that, too! Nico will probably be happiest in an active household where he can get lots of walks and pets and a large, secure yard with a cool spot to lie down. Nico has been doing well with respectful toddlers in his foster home.
Nico came to us from Hitchcock Road Animal Services where he was becoming stressed in the shelter setting. He is much happier now in a foster home.
