Rocco is a devoted, monogamous pup--he loves to share a quality relationship with one person. This gentle soul is working through some anxieties that come from a "ruff" past. He is the kind of dog that approaches you tail wagging to say hello but may back away to consider if he is ready to meet you or not. He prefers to meet people on his own terms.
Rocco can be a bit picky about his favorite people and is not shy about telling others that he is not ready to be friends. Rocco does not like men, and he does prefer to have his person's love all to himself, which means not sharing with other dogs.
With his favorite people he loves to snuggle and gives kisses liberally. He's a great fit for an active home that can provide daily walks and activities, but he also doesn't mind kicking back and relaxing, and he makes a great work-from-home buddy.
Rocco does have diabetes, but he hardly seems to notice when he receives his insulin shots. He also a poorly healed broken right foot that he doesn't put weight on. This barely slows him down -- he's an active, happy guy who can still handle stairs and run around.
Rocco was surrendered to the Hollister Animal Shelter by his previous people who could no longer care for him.
