A quick look into Mossy's soulful eyes will tell you that he's seen some things. Mossy is a gentle giant who was found in Moss Landing with bite wounds on his leg, likely from another dog. He is all healed up but understandably still a bit anxious when coming across large dogs.

Otherwise, Mossy is calm and joyful on walks, great in the car, and a couch potato who enjoys belly rubs and snuggles. He is eager and curious to meet new small dogs and got along with a small dog in his foster home. He has lived with cats and gives them lots of space. Because sudden movements can scare him, he might not be a good fit for a home with small children.

Mossy would thrive in a home with dog experience, with guidance getting used to being left alone and getting socialized with large dogs. Mossy's foster says, "he smiles all the time and is so calm and gentle around people. He would make a great buddy for someone who wants to take him everywhere."
