Gingerbread is a sweet girl who bonds deeply with her human caretakers. She has an easygoing demeanor and is an easy keeper. When home alone, she quickly finds a cozy spot for dozing off until her person comes home. Gingerbread has lost some of her vision due to cataracts, but she's still able to see light and shadows and navigate her way around her environment just fine.

She enjoys her daily walks and is working on losing a bit of weight (she enjoys a hearty meal!) She does well with dogs she meets on walks and has lived comfortably with other dogs of various ages and sizes in her foster home, though she's not particularly interested in them. She has done fine with gentle children, too.

Gingerbread came to us because her guardian was displaced by wildfire and moved cross-country to be closer to family. She had been with her previous guardian since she was a puppy. Gingerbread has been keeping to herself as she processes the heartbreak of losing her original family, but she is starting to respond to pets and snuggles, and can not wait to continue blossoming once she finds her new forever family.
