Bella Nueva is a beautiful senior dog, but very shy. She is very sweet though -- she does not have a mean bone in her body, even when she is terrified. She is as docile and forgiving as can be. She is slowly blossoming in her foster home but has not reached her full potential.

Bella has bonded to her foster mom and now follows her around the house everywhere she goes. She is still unsure of human touch, and freezes up when being pet, but she is starting to accept human affection under certain circumstances. She walks nicely on leash, but because of her fearful nature, she should only be walked in quiet areas at this time. We hope she'll gradually be able to handle more and more outside stimulation.

We are looking for a special, patient adopter who accepts her as she is and will continue to help her gain confidence. Someone that has experience with shy dogs or training experiencing would be preferred. She would do best in a quiet all female home. At this time she is doing well with her foster mom but is very nervous around her foster dad.

She is a very quiet dog and has barely made a sound in her foster home. She seems to be completely house trained. She gets along great with other dogs in her foster home and even initiated play with another foster dog in the home! Because of how shy Bella is and how well she does with the dogs in her foster home, we are looking for a home with another confident dog in the house to help Bella build her confidence. Bella also needs a home with a fully fenced yard.

Bella came to us after a life of being used for breeding. We don't know what her early socialization was, but we're told she rarely left her dog bed in her previous home. We are hopeful that with patience and in the right adoptive home, she'll live up to her highest potential and be able to live a joyous life, giving and receiving affection and developing trusting relationships with humans.
