Lucy Boo is a sweet senior Hound lady. Like many hounds, she uses her voice quite a bit to express her feelings and also to greet people, but once you approach her, she will immediately roll over to invite belly rubs! Lucy Boo loves to lounge in the sun in the backyard, and she's not picky about where she sleeps at night. Depending on how she's feeling, she'll sleep on the bed, the floor, or a crate with the door open. If she's really tired, she sometimes spends the whole night on the couch! Lucy is looking for a stair-free home as she adores shadowing her person around even up stairs which does not work well with her arthritis.
Lucy Boo's foster shares that she is an absolute sweetheart! She will politely let you know she needs to go outside by placing her head in your lap. She knows how to sit on command and stay, and play fetch. Lucy has lived with a cat in the past and has done well with them. She has lived with other dogs in the home but can be very selective over dogs who she likes to spend time with so we do think she would do best as an only dog in the home. She can become overstimulated on walks, especially in high-traffic areas, barking at people and dogs who pass by her. But OH BOY, does Lucy love her walks! She would be happiest walking in a quiet area where she can do lots of sniffing without these distractions around her.
Lucy Boo came to us because because her senior guardian was ill and no longer able to care for her.
