Margaret is the happiest girl in the world! Why, you ask? No reason at all, except that she's happy to be alive! Her stub tail is constantly wagging, and she prances around with the biggest smile on her face. She loves to rub up against you for pets, and will even put her front paws in your lap because she just can't get enough love. If you're sitting in a chair, she wants to be sitting in it with you- or at the very least sitting on your feet. She may even try to get in your lap!
Margaret absolutely loves people of all shapes and sizes, but she is quite selective about making canine friends. Her loyalty is to her human companion above all, and she feels the need to protect her person from other dogs when she's out and about on leash and can be reactive towards dogs because of this. She doesn't mind sharing her space with smaller dogs off-leash, as long as they don't compete for her person's attention. We would love for Margaret's adoptive family to have training experience and be able to work on these behaviors.
Margaret came to us from Hitchcock Road Animal Services. Unfortunately, shortly after coming into our program, we found out she has a nasal tumor and will need life-saving treatment, but her prognosis is good once her treatment is complete.
