Orca is a busy, high-energy girl with lots of things to do, and lots of things to say. She loves to sniff and explore, and she loves to chase tennis balls, which she then piles up and stores in her bed. Her crate is her cozy place and she loves to burrow into it at night. Although she's experiencing some pain and stiffness in her hind legs and back these days, she knows a whole repertoire of tricks, including "upside down" and "other side" if she's going the wrong way on leash.
Orca does have some chronic pain due to arthritis, and unfortunately she also has an extremely sensitive tummy which doesn't tolerate medications very well. She does have some down days where she isn't up for much exercise, but most of the time she has the energy and spunk of a much younger dog.
Orca was attacked by a large dog when she was younger so she is understandably not a fan of dogs larger than her whether that be on leash or at home.
Orca's guardian reached out to us about enrolling Orca in the Perpetual Care Program, but ultimately decided that she was needing to surrender her to POMDR.
