Your first impression of Charlie will be one of gentlemanly reserve. Underneath that calm and composed demeanor lies the heart of a playful puppy. Charlie is a true gentleman - he has beautiful leash manners, rides well in the car, calmly consents to a bath, happily goes to bed in his crate and sleeps through the night, and takes treats oh-so-gently from your hand.
Carlie is a bit slow to warm up to new people and new situations but once he feels comfortable he will quickly show you his happy, silly side. Charlie will greet you at the door prancing with his favorite toy and entice you to play with him. He does zoomies around the backyard and play-bows to other little dogs trying to get them to engage. He loves being cuddled and will lie beside you while you watch TV, or squish into the dog bed with the other pups, or politely place a paw on your leg asking to be pet. Charlie loves his brisk morning walks, but once he has been exercised he settles nicely for the rest of the day. He loves other dogs and is happiest when he is part of a welcoming pack.
Charlie was brought to us not long after his guardian passed away. His guardian's daughter wanted the best for Charlie, and knew that her pack of large dogs and ranch life was no place for a small dog.
