Elise's primary aim in life is to find a lap to snuggle in and a person's eyes to gaze into. She is a quiet girl who loves to feel secure in any person's embrace, but also expresses herself with her amazing tail wags! She loves to ride in a sling for the moments when you need both of your arms, but want to keep her close to your heart. She is a loyal, devoted companion. She wakes her foster each morning by touching her nose to her foster's nose. She would make a great apartment dog because she almost never barks and doesn't need a large space to run around in!
This little lady walks well on leash and enjoys stopping to sniff the terrain. She can be shy at first with strangers, but has opened up to new acquaintances when properly introduced. She will settle in to her car seat as "co-pilot" for car rides. Elise's foster reports that when left alone this pup was quiet, found a spot on the couch, and then happily greeted her human on return.
Elise would probably be happiest in a home as an only dog. She's demonstrated herself to be smart, and catches on to the household routine quickly. Elise has a heart murmur but that doesn't slow her down. This is managed by one daily medication taken with her food and she will likely be on this for the rest of her life.
Elise came to us from Hitchcock Road Animal Shelter after she was found as a stray in Salinas.
