Meet Elmer! He's a happy-go-lucky chap whose face lights up when he's offered a treat. He's totally fine with other dogs and even cats, but Elmer is much more interested in people. And did we mention his fondness for treats? Even though he can neither see nor hear well, Elmer loves life, a sunny spot, and having a bit of a schedule. (He's so predictable that you can almost schedule his potty breaks, but he'll remind you when it's time.) Elmer enjoys a small amount of exercise and a lot of naps (ideally on your lap).
When he senses that he's alone, Elmer sometimes barks until he's reunited with his person. He takes daily medication to keep seizures in check and he does have a prescription for anxiety medicine, but only needs it occasionally. The ideal companion for Elmer will enjoy nesting too so that this isn't an issue the majority of the time.
Elmer came to us from the SPCA of Monterey County after being found as a stray. He's definitely a survivor, and we admire his resilience and attitude. He's a sweetheart and such a peaceable little soul. Elmer is ready to find his best friend and can't wait to snuggle up near you for a long snooze.
