Foster needed 6/8-6/12
Ernesto is a well-mannered senior fellow looking for a lap to call his own. He is excellent with other dogs in the home as well as out and about in the world. He doesn't mind strangers coming over. He'll even gently take treats if guests happen to have snacks to share with him.
Ernesto has been found to have intervertebral disc disease (IVDD). Because of this, his ideal adoptive home would be one without stairs or where he could be carried up and down any stairs. Ernesto is a perfect gentleman on his walks and really enjoys going for these outings, but because of his IVDD, he should be limited to moderate walks. He should not be doing any hiking or jumping. Ernesto also has some eye conditions that he takes eye drops for multiple times a day. He is an excellent patient and happily awaits his drops to hear he's a "good boy!" and get a tasty treat for his cooperation.
This sweet senior fellow just wants to be loved! He can be a little timid when getting to know new people, but once he settles in, he adores being on a comfy bed near you or right on your lap. He is an easy keeper and a quiet boy. He even rides calmly in the car.
Ernesto came to us after his senior guardian passed away and there was no family in the area to take on Ernesto's care.
