Trigger is a natural born life coach! If you are looking to be inspired every day to find joy, laugh a lot, embrace adversity, embody resilience, and generally just take things in stride with good humor, Trigger will be your personal wisdom-filled Yoda (comic relief included). Trigger is blind and will occasionally bump into things but with some cheerleading (verbal cues) from his people, he is incredibly high-functioning. Trigger knows all his "commands" and is a very smart cookie.
He does well on walks, keeping his nose to the ground to find his way and is a wonderful housemate - happy to stay home alone, when necessary, and not a barker! His foster reports that he lives beautifully with the 2 resident dogs but could do equally well as an only dog. He is the perfect balance of energetic on walks and mellow in the home. His favorite pastimes are getting belly rubs, sunbathing, destroying squeakers in his toys, cuddling on laps during TV time, getting treats, and making your life happier and healthier. He has never met a person he doesn't love (no exposure yet to children) and seems overall pretty unflappable. Don't pigeonhole this guy because of his sight impairment; his foster thinks Trigger would love to go to a home with active people that like to explore the outdoors.
Trigger came to us from the SPCA of Monterey County after he was surrendered by his guardian who had some life changes and could no longer give Trigger the life he deserved.
