Sweet Stormy gets his name because of the uncommon place where he was rescued. He was found when a Good Samaritan heard him vocalizing in a storm drain during one of the recent storms. They enlisted the help of local fire fighters who were fortunately able to get him out. He was filthy, so they took him back to the station for a warm bath and promptly fell in love with him. Now that Stormy is settled into a cozy foster home, his foster shares that Stormy is "interested in anything with a smell. He's a very good eater and is very interested in food, crumbs on the floor or treats." They share that this sweet little guy is always up for some adventure and is quite brave!
Stormy is blind and mostly deaf but gets around unbelievably well under the circumstances. He does not let any obstacle get in the way of his exploring. He doesn't walk exceptionally well on leash but does adore meandering around an open yard. He gets daily 'trotting time' at his foster home where he loves stretching those little legs of his. Stormy does well around other dogs and kitties but doesn't interact with them much. Stormy has a severe heart murmur. Because of this, he is on life long ongoing medication to keep his heart condition as stable as possible.
This sweet senior fellow came to us from Hitchcock Road Animal Services, where the Salinas Fire Department took him after his rescue.
