Moku is a young island boy, coming all the way from the Big Island of Hawaii. This sweet and goofy teenager is searching for an active adopter who can take him on some fun outings. He's affectionate, bonds easily, and wants to please his people. Moku has lived with other dogs and seems to prefer females. He may do fine living with male dogs also, but slow introductions are a must. He gets along with small dogs but is very clumsy and bouncy, so he wouldn't be best suited to live with fragile older dogs or young children.
Moku will benefit from an adopter dedicated to training and socialization. Fortunately, he's a smart boy who LOVES training! He is treat motivated, learns quickly, and will be a joy to someone who enjoys dog school and dog sports. As a young active dog, he needs daily walks and would benefit from playdates. He has a creative inner world and will make up games to play with his balls and toys. Once exercised, Moku will settle nicely in the house, and cuddling on the couch watching Netflix is his favorite evening activity.
Moku does have some sensitive skin issues so we have started him on a special diet to see if that will help keep it in check.
Moku was in a sanctuary in Hawaii that is facing serious overcrowding, so one of our fantastic foster volunteers offered to fly him to California so he could join POMDR and find his forever family.
