Poppy is the most happy-go-lucky bundle of energy who sports endless tail wags, zoomies, and flop-overs all day long! She adores attention, snuggles, and ear scratches and is very friendly with everyone she meets. Although we have not observed her interacting with young children, yet, we are fairly confident that she would be a perfect companion for kids. She gets along great with other dogs as well as with cats.
This sweet pup enjoys extensive yard explorations and walks well on leash. If you are looking for a speed-walking partner, Poppy is your girl! For indoor exercise, she likes chasing and retrieving toys. She is content on car rides and also does not mind staying home alone now and then. Being the social butterfly that she is, she certainly prefers to have human company most of the time and would do best in a home with other pups or even kitties.
Until she joined POMDR, she has been an outdoor-only dog for a bit. In her foster home, she has been soaking up all the comforts of indoor living, but she definitely enjoys the freedom to roam around in a spacious yard. This free spirit may also try to take liberties to take herself on a joy-stroll around the block, thus she will need a securely fenced yard to keep her safe. During her transition to indoor living, she will need frequent reminders for potty breaks, but she is eager to please and is responding well to training.
Poppy came to us after her guardian became ill and was no longer able to care for her.
