Sweet Sasha has had a difficult past, but it's been a true joy watching her come out of her shell and show her true colors - that of a loyal, sweet and happy border collie mix. Once she has settled into your home, you will find this gentle girl right by your side (preferably on a soft doggie bed) eager for love and affection. Sasha loves to snuggle and has the softest, cuddliest coat that she enjoys getting brushed. This sweet lady is looking for a forever home where she can spend her years surrounded by love and support.
Sasha would do best in a calm, quiet home that is free from too many stairs as she has some arthritis that can make going up and down stairs painful. She does well with other calm dogs she meets while out and about and may thrive while living with such a 'furiend'. She has been living harmoniously with another large and more energetic dog in her foster home and a younger dog that was recently adopted by her foster family. She is very patient as her foster brother runs around her. On her walks, sweet talk and a treat to redirect her attention as strangers go by has worked wonders for helping her feel safe while out and about. Sasha is looking for her next person/family with patience to continue to work with her on any lingering anxiety and help her gain confidence.
This persevering pup was found as a stray in Modesto and came to us from Stanislaus Animal Services so we could get her the medical care she needed.
