Alan has been through a lot, but that doesn't slow him down. This loving little guy enjoys spending his day snuggling and following around his new best friend. With his mellow attitude, he'd be a perfect companion for someone who enjoys stopping to smell the roses.
Due to issues with his rear legs, Alan has had some trouble walking and jumping. He has made HUGE progress in his foster home in terms of his mobility! He can get around much better than when he first joined our program. While he still enjoys going for walks and can even run in short bursts, he may need to be carried from time to time and needs to go a little slower than your average pup. It's also recommended that Alan be in a house without stairs. More evaluation will need to be done to determine what Alan needs to help him get his strength up, but he currently takes medication and uses portable laser treatment. He also needs high-nutritional food to help him put on weight.
Due to his mobility concerns, we recommend that Alan's forever home not be with small children or big dogs. He would do well with another small dog or a cat in his next home. He enjoys chiming in to bark with the pack in his foster home and loves playing with his squeaky toys!
Alan was found dragging his back legs as a stray by Hitchcock Road Animal Services and came to us to get the medical care he needs.
