Scarlett's name associations suit her just perfectly; courage, passion, and joy. This big bundle of sweetness is full of personality and happy energy. As far as she is concerned, the world is her oyster and she would love nothing more than sharing adventures and road trips with you. Scarlett is super friendly with all humans, adults and children alike, and she is a huge snuggle bug. If you stop petting her, but she is not done being petted, she will move your hand back over with her paw and ask for more! On leashed walks, this strong girl is usually well-behaved, unless she sees a squirrel, then she gets very excited and pulls. With other dogs she can be hot and cold; some dogs she ignores, others she barks and lunges at. Although she has previously lived with two cats, she may try to engage in a chase and may be better off in a feline-free home. When home alone, she curls up and mostly sleeps; however, sometimes her mischievous side gets the better of her and she may opportunistically inspect the trash or do a quick counter-surf.
Scarlett came to POMDR with a torn ligament in her knee which was successfully repaired at our clinic in early February. She is recovering very well from her surgery, but the joint may take a few months to completely heal and she will require some activity restrictions during this period. Sweet Scarlett would appreciate finding a family who will support her through recovery and encourage some gentle movement. Once her knee is all healed up, she would love to be part of an active household and pursue an adventurous lifestyle once more. This girl is ready to be showered with lots of attention and love.
Scarlett joined us from the SPCA of Monterey County to help find her lucky forever family!
