This sweet senior lady has officially retired from the hustle and bustle and is now accepting applications for the coveted position of Full-Time Couch Companion. Her hobbies include snoozing, relaxing, snoozing some more, and quietly keeping you company while you read, watch TV, or enjoy a peaceful afternoon.

Peppercorn is a gentle, shy little soul who takes a couple of days to settle into new surroundings, but once she feels safe, she's the easiest roommate you could ask for. She isn't demanding or noisy, she simply enjoys being near her people. While she's not a big cuddler or kisser, she's happiest curled up beside you on the couch or snuggled next to you in bed at night. Because her vision is limited, she appreciates a helping hand getting onto furniture, and she'll happily drift off to sleep once she's tucked in beside you.

Life with Peppercorn is delightfully low-key. She strolls nicely on leash at her own leisurely pace, rides beautifully in the car (usually sleeping the whole trip), and politely ignores other dogs while out and about. She gets along well with calm canine companions as long as they respect her personal space and don't crowd her face. She's not interested in toys, but if you happen to have a tiny piece of real meat to share, you've just become her favorite chef. Since she has no teeth, soft treats and bite-sized snacks are the way to her heart.

Peppercorn is looking for a quiet, patient home where she can enjoy her golden years at her own pace. Because of her limited vision, she relies on her people to help her outside for potty breaks, when she starts pacing, she's letting you know it's time to go. With a little routine and a lot of love, she's an incredibly easy companion who asks for very little in return. Little Peppercorn joined us from Bradshaw Sacramento County Animal Services after she was brought in as a stray. Due to her senior status, they felt she would do best in a senior focused rescue to find her forever people.
