Just like his name suggests, Benny Bear is equal parts cuddly and adorable, but don't let the teddy bear looks fool you! This little Pomeranian/Chihuahua mix is a curious, busy-body extraordinaire who's convinced it's his job to keep tabs on absolutely everything happening around him. Neighborhood walk? He's on patrol. New friend? He'd love to say hello. Someone opening a snack? Benny's already investigating.
When the day's adventures are done, Benny transforms into the sweetest little shadow. He adores affection and is happiest curled up beside his favorite people, soaking up all the pets and love he can get. He has a big heart and forms strong bonds with the people he trusts most. Benny can be a little protective of his favorite human and may guard their attention, so he'd likely thrive as the only dog in the home or with an adopter who understands his quirks and is happy to help him continue building confidence. Outside the home, though, he's a social butterfly who enjoys meeting new people and is a wonderful walking buddy.
Benny is also diabetic, which means he'll need insulin injections twice a day for the rest of his life. While that sounds intimidating at first, many adopters find the routine becomes second nature, and Benny takes it all in stride. In return, you'll get a devoted little companion whose love is worth every bit of extra care.
Benny joined the POMDR pack after his guardian sadly declined medically and developed dementia, losing her ability to keep up with his daily insulin.
