Max volunteered at the POMDR clinic full time as a Veterinary Technician Extern before joining the staff in September 2020. He has worked with dozens of other non-profit organizations as well, including the Valley Humane Society, Lindsay Wildlife Experience, Colorado State University and University of California at Davis.
Before coming to POMDR, he spent more than five years dedicated to wildlife medicine in various capacities. Most recently, he designed and built a state-of-the-art wildlife veterinary hospital in Oregon to help injured, ill and orphaned wildlife.
Max has several professional certifications in veterinary life support and wildlife rehabilitation. He has published various academic research papers pertaining to wildlife rehabilitation and has been involved in establishing new veterinary technician specialties for wildlife and shelter medicine. Currently, he is working on his Associates and Bachelors degrees in Veterinary Technology.
